Junior Theatre Festival?! Click here for more info.

Exciting info for Theatre teachers statewide!

Many of us have been told for years by various and sundry confused administrators and counselors that Drama cannot count as a fine art, unless it is part of the CTE program. After attending the ADE framework rewrite, we were told this has never been true! Even though Drama fell under ELA, it is still a fine arts credit! Feel free to share with your counseolrs!

All State Musical Message to Director's

magic-show.jpg

All State Musical Auditions  for, “I want to Make Magic!” were held at Alma on Monday, July 21st.  We had 8 amazing students audition from Russellville HS, Pulaski Academy, Searcy HS, Van Buren HS, and White County Central HS.  These students came prepared and did an amazing job.  They are the beginning of an amazing cast.

Unfortunately, we cannot do the show we have prepared with only these 8 students.  As Directors of the All State Show, we realize that the information was released later than expected and feel that there were some misunderstandings. So…..

A Second Round of Auditions will be held at our Fall Planning meeting, on Aug 23, which was originally scheduled as our first rehearsal.  Auditions will be held in the morning from 9 AM until Noon, with a read thru will be in the afternoon.

The attached audition form has very important information and must be READ, filled out and signed by student, parent, and director.  But we would like to clarify some information.

Each school may have up to 3 students in the All State Cast.   They must come prepared with the Actrtre.jpgaudition form.  Our hope is tohave at least one student from every troupe around the state in the show.  These students do not have to be the “best” your troupe has to offer.  We understand that these students are involved in many other things and especially in your productions.  They may not be able to commit to the rehearsal time.  Please encourage your younger inexperienced students to audition and be in the All State Show.  They may have less commitments and more time available.  They will be given an opportunity to work under a different director, gain confidence and participate in our First Ever  All State Show.

Transportation and Housing Concerns:  If we get participation throughout the state, these students can carpool with each other from different schools in their area and take turns arranging travel.  In the cases where a student is having to travel more than an hour to a rehearsal, the host school will be offering host families for those students to come in the night before and stay with other drama students and arrive at the rehearsal the next day. They must contact us in advance.

PLEASE ENCOURAGE YOUR STUDENTS TO TAKE PART IN THIS INCREDIBLE OPPORTUNITY!
